The Ty Attic Treasures were first introduced in 1993. They are jointed "plush" rather than bean bag "critters" and initially they wore nothing but colorful ribbons around their necks. However, the censors had their way, and eventually, most were dressed in a variety of sweaters, sweater vests, dresses and overalls. Of note, some of the first hang tags read "Beanie Baby Collection", while others read "Attic Treasures". Ty then changed the name to "Ty Collectibles", but in May of this year, they were returned to "Ty Attic Treasures Collection".
Retired Attic Bears
There are currently seven different generations of hang tags. The first generation hang tags were a single red heart with Ty printed in the "skinny" type font. Of note, some of the very early tags had the signature of the artist on the back of the tag. The second generation was a folded red heart, with Ty printed again in the "skinny" type font. The third generation tags were folded red hearts, but now the word Ty was seen in a fatter font. Fourth generation tags were folded red hearts, with the "fat" Ty lettering, but with the addition of a green Collectibles banner across the upper corner. The fifth generation saw the change to the folded, thin, matte finish beige heart, with tiny paw prints and Ty printed in the "fat" font in dark maroon, with a maroon Collectibles banner across the top corner. The sixth generation tag, new this year, is similar in appearance to the 5th generation tag except that now, on the inside and on the back, the font is Comic Sans and the style number is no longer seen next to the name. Ty Collectibles do not have poems, but instead, inside, you find "To______ From______ With love". *Please note: There is also a beige tag with the old Collectible banner on the front, but on the inside, it now reads The Attic Treasures Collection. Finally, the much awaited seventh generation tag has arrived. It is the familiar Ty red heart tag, with white lettering. Inside it reads The Ty Attic Collection and another change found is that the character's name appears and below it is a saying, for example, Halo's tag reads "May All Your Wishes Come True!".(Pictures of all the tags will be available soon.)

The first tush tags were black and white. The second tush tags were white in color with a red heart bearing the word Ty in white. This tag is relatively rare in comparison to the more common, most recent tush tag, which is brown, with beige lettering.
Like the Beanie Babies, mistakes and early "retirements" were made with the Collectible line. For example, Squeaky was originally all gray, with a black nose and whiskers and a gray tail. She is now gray, with white paws, white tail and white whiskers and her nose is pink. Morgan, the monkey, was initially smaller and less "furry". White Gilbert was actually an early version of Nicholas, which was discontinued rather quickly. Purrcy and Whiskers, the kittens, originally were made with ears of the same color, but were later changed to have different colored ears. Popularity and scarcity seem to determine the retirees pricing. Reggie and Clifford, along with the Woolies, were the first Collectibles to be retired and they are already fetching premium prices for those in mint condition. Other "wanteds" include: Cassie (very scarce), Colby (scarce), Ivory (scarce), Charles (scarce), Barry (very scarce), as he was introduced in 1997 and was almost immediately retired) and Frederick (scarce). But as always, the market keeps changing, and we try to keep changing with it.
